Who is Jonathan Lee? After earning a Master’s in Business Administration from Rollins College in 1996, Mr. Lee joined CB Richard Ellis as an Account Manager managing lease acquisitions, dispositions, buyouts, and renegotiations for a nationwide healthcare client. Mr. Lee completed more than $40 million in lease transactions between 1998 and 2001, and earned his CCIM certification in 2000. Mr. Lee has provided data center purchase/lease negotiations, tenant representation services, site selection services and consulting work for several large corporations, including At-Net, AllState Insurance, Bank of America, Cornerstone Wealth & Tax Advisory Group, Global Crossing, HLB Gross Collins, OnCare Management, and Uniglobe Courier Services. In 2004, he and his family moved to Charleston, South Carolina, where he started Choice Realty to provide buyer and tenant representation for companies and serve the needs of real estate investors using nontraditional and creative real estate strategies. When the real estate market began to crumble, Mr. Lee examined two areas where his team could create the most value. Mr. Lee focuses on two niches: (1) As a Commercial Tenant Representative, he helps corporate tenants/buyers locate and negotiate the purchase or lease of industrial space, office space and retail space using market knowledge and strong negotiation skills, saving his clients between 20-30% off occupancy costs. As an experienced investor (in apartment ownership, assignments, flips, property management, rehabs, rentals, resolving landlord/tenant disputes, short sales, and taking over payments), he educates and provides the traditional home seller a set of creative exit strategy alternatives beyond sticking a For Sale sign in the yard and waiting for a buyer. He and his team tackle sales using Rent-to-Own Programs, Subject-To Sales, Owner Financing Programs, Residential Property Management Services as well as Traditional Sales. Mr. Lee has participated as Charleston’s Real Estate Advisor in a Talk Radio Show on 94.3FM regarding commercial real estate tips and residential real estate market updates and is a regular featured writer on commercial and investment real estate topics. Mr. Lee helped start and served as President in 2008 and Vice President in 2009 of the Greater Summerville BNI Chapter; and, served on the Board of Directors as Public Relations Chairman for the Lowcountry Senior Network in 2006-2007. Mr. Lee resides in Historic Summerville, enjoys spending time with his two fantastic children, participates in sprint triathlons, and his hobbies include swimming, fly-fishing, creative writing, travel, cooking and making a variety of ice cream and sorbets.
